Forklift Operations and Work Flow Best Practices

The word fork is derived from the Greek work "kornes" which means forks or th forks. The word fork has entered into modern American English as a synonym for knife or sword. In military and law enforcement the use of fork on foot is known as trekking.

A forklift truck, forklift operator is usually equipped with a signaling device such as a push button or a horn that will alert him to any problems or potential obstacles on the path. Some trucks have safety belts to prevent the operator from being ejected from the vehicle in an accident. Most forklifts are equipped with operating systems for forking. The operating system is called a forking system call or OSCC.

There are two types of forklift available on the market today; a universal forklift or a universal/proprietary fork. Universal forklifts are built to work with a wide range of universal truck OSCC's. The universal forklift is usually more affordable than its proprietary counterpart because it does not need to be customized to work with specific truck models. However, some universal forks require custom mounting brackets to fit specific truck models. Most universal/proprietary forklifts use either forklift software, which allows them to be easily customized, or forklift engine.

The fork system call (FSC) is the central database for all truck OSCC's. All forklift drivers and technicians should be familiar with the FSC. A FSC records all events that occur during a forklift driver's shift. Registered operators (FBO) are required to check the FSC to make sure that the forklifts and their operating systems are functioning properly.

A forklift FSC records basic machine parameters, system calls, diagnostics, and other important data for each fork. It records data for both the fork and the operating system. In addition, it copies these data for forking operations to and from a memory bank. Each copy-on-write (COX) operation performed by a forklift driver must be documented in its respective fork memory bank. A COX record can specify a time and date stamp, which indicates when and where a particular fork event took place.

Forklift operating systems must be in good working order to allow forklift drivers to execute new processes. If a new or different process is to take place, drivers must first initiate and confirm compatibility with the new process. New process execution is usually initiated with a request from an FBO. A driver then requests the fork from the FBO.
